“Chickas” December 7, 2007

The weblog has very sensitive and actual theme – about homeless people, ill children, and charity. I like the topic, it is really serious and important.
The authors of the weblog divided information they posted into three parts and each girl wrote about her own theme: children. homeless people or animals.
Girls told about their posts. But during the presentation I noticed that they were talking only about the topic, and didn’t touch any technicale sight of their work. I think if we present our weblogs we firstly should say about features and functions that the weblog provides.
There was nothing relevant to the subjest of the New Information Technologies at all, but just talking about their topic. I agree that the topic is serious but the main point in here that we study the particular subject and we should show what we’ve learned.

That is the most interesting weblog in our class I think! I love it! Guys were so original, the topic they chose is not ordinary, it is special and the interest from the public would be great I think.
The pictures on the weblog are colorful and funny. I really enjoyed viewing the blog. Also I liked the tests the authors placed on the blog. They are unusual and interesting. We even tried one and found out what animal is our professor like
)
Overall impression from the blog is great. I like it very much! The job was well-done, guys are so creative and they are real journalists.

The presentation was really very interesting. Girls created a weblog that is very actual today. Life of people nowadays especially in Almaty is very close to movies, to cinema. People always discuss films, spend free time going to premiers and so on. So, in my opinion, the weblog is very needed
I liked that they conducted survey on the weblog. I think people would be interested to answer some questions and share their opinion. Also the informetion on the weblog is really exciting, because me personally is films lover, I cannot imagine my life without films, I like to read Hollywood stars biographies. So girls made good job in my opinion.

I decided to revise Grazhdanskaya Zhurnalistika website. The adress is : http://cj.kz
Tha language is Russian
That is not just a web-site but a weblog. Very interesting fact that it is weblog that can be done by everybody.
At first glance the site has many links and very comfortable navigation. It is very easy to find news and ibformation about events in different spheres of life.
The names of the authors could be easily found after clicking “Obratnaya svyaz’” (Contact) feature. There are many people who made this blog, or, to be more exact, 38!!! Among them we can find already familiar to us Adam Kesher.
Due to the archieve of news it is obvious that blog is operated since February 2007, less than a year. The number of posts during the first month of work is only 6, however during the next – 41. The approximate number of posts per week is 20-25. Total number of posts is 223.
The weblog allows users to comment. However the number of somments is not huge: approximately 3-5 per post.
The site provides RSS feed.
The sources of information are mostly from the users. Also weblog provides links to several websites such as neweurasia, zona.kz and etc.
The topics that are covered by the authors are from differents areas of life: from politics to culture and internet. Some of them are personal, some – news-oriented.
Also there are humor, photodesign works are available on the weblog.
In my opinin, the content of the weblog is really very interesting, journalists not only tell about the news, but also express their own opinions, make some observation and comments. That is a really good example of the participatory journalism.

Wikipedia October 10, 2007

Today in class we were asked to visit two online encyclopedias: Britannica and Wikipedia. I visited Wikipedia. Previously I used Wikipedia only for entertainment and didn’t try to look it carefully and find out all the possibilities to add or adit information in there. Firstly, I have created my own account to receive full opportunities in working on the site. After signing in I found tyhe following text: “Wikipedia is an encyclopedia collaboratively written by many of its readers. It is a special type of website, called a wiki, that makes collaboration easy. Many people are constantly improving Wikipedia, making thousands of changes an hour, all of which are recorded on article histories and recent changes. Inappropriate changes are usually removed quickly, and repeat offenders can be blocked from editing. If you add new material to Wikipedia, please provide references. Facts that are unreferenced are routinely removed from the encyclopedia.”
So here we can see that it is not so easy to add own information as we thought previously. The change and adding of information is protected by several rules and verything would be removed from the ebcyclopedia if the person who adds does not follow instructions.
Other people about their communities October 1, 2007

I have read several blogs and now I woiuld like to summarize information I’ve known.
Alua in her post wrote about three main communities in her life: family, friends and univrsity community. She was rather short in her words, but it is easy to understand that she appreciates and loves her famiy and friends, and it is interesting to her to communicate with people in KIMEP.
Kairzhan’s post is much onger and aso very interesting. He has told about his communities in life and internet and even osted some photos and that made his writing more exciting. Kairzhan has some hierarchy of communities, dividing people he communicates with to more or less closer to him.
Communities September 28, 2007

All our world consists of different communities, huge or very small. People can not exist without interacting with other people within exact community.
My life is also somehow related with communities. One of them is debates community. Here people communicate not only within their college but also with students from other universities from different towns and countries. We have common interests, many themes to discuss. Also it is great that all members of debates are very intelligent and it is incrediblu interesting to talk to each other, discuss global and local problems.
Talking about my on-line aommunities I would like to say that I don’t like using Internet to communicate with people. But I love hip-hop and rnb music and I always visit RnB forum streetlife.kz where I can find new music and read about new events in hip-hop world. There are also many people visiting this forum and we rather often communicate, help to find latest track or music video. We do not communicate very close, but we share common interest and so we have enough themes to discuss.
What is journalism? September 10, 2007

Journalism is a part of contemporary life. Moreover, in my opinion, it is one of the most important part because journalism is an information first of all. It is hard to imagine how people woud get information without an existing of journalism. Journalism is a bridge between people and information. So here it is important to remember that good jourmalism is an objective and truthful journalism. I think, that is the main point. Journalist should have ethics.
